Do you ever feel sluggish mid-way through your workout? How about feeling nauseous after taking a pre-workout supplement? Adding a pre-workout snack to your routine may help put an end to both of these workout killers. Note: when we say ‘snack’, we mean a smaller/lighter meal than traditional ones, not sweets and deserts. For best workout results, we suggest eating a single banana about 30 minutes before you hit the gym or trail. Bananas are packed with vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Potassium, Protein and Iron, among others. These vitamins and minerals can help keep your nutrient levels high, helping you power through a successful workout. Not only are bananas are great pre-workout snack, they also have many health benefits. Adding bananas to your diet can help lower blood pressure, reduce the chance of developing asthma, and even lower the risk of certain types of cancer. Other foods to consider including in your pre-workout snack include: oats, yogurt, wholegrain bread, peanut (or other nut) butter, cottage cheese, and fruit. Do you eat a pre-workout snack? If so, what's your go-to?
