Skin Cleanser
Removes Oils Fast: Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser is your solution to the misery of poison oak, ivy and sumac. Cleans and decontaminates by removing the invisible, oily poison from skin and clothing. Cleanse After Exposure: When you return from outdoors or finish handling pets or tools that may have poison plant oils on them, cleanse your skin with Tecnu as soon as possible, within 2-8 hours. This normally washes away the urushiol oils before they can produce a rash. Cleanse the Rash: Tecnu stops the rash from spreading by removing the irritant, allowing the skin's natural healing process to begin without possible recontamination. Other treatments simply cover up the symptoms.

Directions:

Tecnu is most effective when used within the first two hours, after exposure or as soon as rash appears. When exposed to poison plants, outdoors cutting firewood, camping or gardening, clean up with Tecnu every few hours to significantly reduce the effects of exposure. Tecnu should be used with free-flowing water. Tub baths may spread the oils that cause the rash.

Before rash has started: 1. Apply Tecnu to exposed unwetted skin within 2 to 8 hours after exposure to poison plants. 2. Rub vigorously for 2 minutes to remove oils and other contaminants from skin. If hyper-sensitive, wash entire body with Tecnu. 3. Rinse skin clean with cool running water or wipe off with cloth. Repeat.

As soon as rash appears: 1. Apply Tecnu to affected skin and surrounding areas. For best results apply to entire body. Rub in for 2 minutes but avoid breaking skin. 2. Rinse with cool running water to remove Tecnu and poison oils. If itching persists, reapply Tecnu, then rinse in a very warm shower (not bath). 3. Towel dry gently. Repeat as needed and before retiring.

To clean clothing and equipment: Saturate contaminated, unwetted clothing with Tecnu (first check for color fastness by testing a concealed corner of the fabric). Let soak for several minutes. Launder clothing by itself as usual with detergent and hot water. Equipment and tools should be wiped down with a clean cloth saturated with Tecnu. Wipe clean or rinse off with running water. Clean hands with Tecnu after handling contaminated items.

Do not use this product for at least 3 days after using hydrocortisone ointments on the affected area. May irritate sensitive skin.
